Quotes from Buddha and
Others Enlightened

His Holiness the Dalai Lama

"If our own and others' welfare were totally unrelated and independent of one another,
we could make a case for neglecting others' welfare.
But that is not the case.
I am always related to others and heavily dependent on them,
no matter what my level of spiritual development:
while I am unenlightened,
while I am on the path,
and also once I have achieved enlightenment.
If we reflect along these lines, the importance of working for the benefit of others  becomes naturally apparent."

Whatever you are doing, ask yourself, what is the state of mind.

With constant mindfulness and alertness, accomplish good.

This is the practice of the Boddisatva

Quotes from Sri Nisargadata

When you know beyond all doubting that the same life flows through all that is, and you are that life, you will love all naturally and spontaneously. When you realize the depth and fullness of your love of yourself, you know that every living being and the entire universe are included in your affection.  But when you look at anything as separate from you, you cannot love it for you are afraid of it.  Alienation causes fear and fear deepens alienation.  Only self-realization can break it.  Go for it resolutely.

Love tells me I am everything.
Wisdom tells me I am nothing.
Between the two my life flows.

All realization is only sharing.
You enter a wider consciousness and share in it.
Unwillingness to enter and share is the only hindrance.
